Happy Valentine's Day!
We had a wonderful Valentine's Day. A little hectic, but very fun! We started out the morning by getting the kids into their Valentine shirts. Then I took their pictures. (Aren't they cute?!) In the morning I went to Alec's preschool party. The kids played games, ate heart shaped cookies, and exchanged Valentine's. In the afternoon I went up to the elementary school to help out with Lauren's class party. It was a WILD time! The game that I was in charge of I call "Heart Hockey". Each child was given a straw and stood across the table from their opponent. They had to blow through the straw and try to get a candy heart to go across their opponent's goal line. Because there is an uneven number in Lauren's class, I had to play against some of the kids. Wow, I got really dizzy from all the blowing! It was funny! After school, the kids helped me cut out construction paper hearts to decorate the dining room table. We got out candles, the fine china, and wine glasses. They helped me bake a cake and make homemade frosting. We ate as a family in the candlelight and took turns going around the table saying one thing that we love about each other. It was very sweet. Both Lauren and Alec kept saying how much they loved everything. Lauren wants to do it every Valentine's Day. We may have ourselves a new family tradition!
